Nashville Employees Turn Out For November Nashville on the Move

The November "Nashville on the Move" walk was a great success, with many downtown employees turning out to enjoy the fall day by walking on their lunch breaks. Nashville on the Move will not host a walk in December, but please stay tuned in January for exciting announcements and new routes for 2010.

The Nashville on the Move partnership would like to thank every person who helped make the initiative a success in 2009. The growth of the walk and the positive feedback from participants touched the hearts of many who strive to see a healthier Nashville and state of Tennessee. Nashville on the Move looks forward to building on this enthusiasm in the New Year.

The Nashville on the Move initiative encourages employees in Music City and across Tennessee to move a little more during their work day by walking during their lunch break with friends or colleagues. The walks are held every first Friday of the month* at various locations across Nashville from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Employees hosting the new course in Metro Center have decided to continue their walk until 2 p.m.

The route maps for all locations are available here and on the Nashville on the Move Facebook page. You can become a fan of the initiative on Facebook by searching for the initiative once you create or access your free Facebook account. You may also request information by emailing info@getfittn.com.

Don't forget to invite friends and colleagues to join you. Everyone is welcome to join in the walks. You can form a walking group of your own or start a course in the area where your office is located. Our team of organizers can post your routes here to inform others about joining your walk. Help us get Nashville on the Move!

Nashville on the Move is brought to you by a partnership of organizations and businesses in the Nashville area concerned about making Nashville a healthier place to call home. The partnership includes the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, Working Well, Bass Berry & Sims, the Nashville Farmers' Market, the US Army Corps of Engineers, Fit Nashville gym, and Get Fit Tennessee.

Walkers assume complete responsibility for their own safety while walking on the courses identified by Nashville on the Move and must read and agree to the waiver attached below. Nashville on the Move and all participating organizations and businesses will not be held responsible for any injury or harm to you or others participating in the free, monthly, walking initiative for any reason. Joining this walking initiative is at your own risk.

*Nashville on the Move walks will resume in 2010.
